A field guide & private travel atelier for the Black Mountain.
Fjord light and limestone towns, monastery cliffs and olive dark. We compose unhurried journeys through Montenegro — eight hundred kilometres of coast, peak and lake, read like a long sentence.
We do not sell Montenegro by the kilometre. We translate it — its weather, its silences, the hour the light goes copper on the bay — into days that feel like they were always meant for you.
Montenegro is small enough to cross in a morning and deep enough to lose a season in. Between the Venetian stones of Kotor and the glacial lakes of Durmitor lies a country that rewards the slow reader. Most travellers skim it. We do not.
Every itinerary begins with a conversation, not a catalogue. We work with a closed circle of innkeepers, captains, shepherds and cooks — people who open doors that are otherwise shut. A private table above the fjord. A fishing boat at first light. A monastery where the only sound is bees.
What we make is not a holiday. It is a composition: paced, edited, and entirely yours.
The Bay of Kotor at the pace of a rowed boat — fortified towns, baroque churches afloat on islets, and dinners that begin when the heat breaks.
North to Durmitor — black pines, the Tara canyon's cold green water, and nights under a sky with no town to dim it. Rafting, ridgelines, and woodsmoke.
The Riviera with the volume turned down — Sveti Stefan from the cliff path, Crmnica wine cellars, oysters pulled from Lake Skadar, and the long Adriatic dusk.
Coast to summit and back to the lake — our complete traverse. Fourteen nights composed end to end, with the country's best rooms and its quietest tables.
“They called it the Black Mountain for the forest, not the dark.”
We take on a limited number of journeys each season. That is the point. It lets us know every road, every host, and — eventually — every traveller by name.
One planner, start to finish. No call centres, no templates.
Our team lives between Kotor and Cetinje. The doors we open are our neighbours'.
